Terms of use
These terms explain what Pairfold does, what it doesn't, and what we ask of everyone who uses it. They're written to be read. By joining, you agree to them.
Who runs Pairfold
Pairfold was started by a local parent. You can contact us at [email protected].
What Pairfold is
Pairfold is an introduction service. It helps families who want to share a nanny find each other and arrange a first meeting. We are not a nanny agency or a childcare provider. We don't employ, recommend or supply nannies, and we aren't part of any arrangement you make with another family or with a nanny.
Who can use it
You must be 18 or over and a parent or carer looking for childcare for your own child. Pairfold is for personal use only: you can't use it to advertise services or to contact families for any other purpose.
What we can and can't check
Pairfold never asks who you are, so we can't verify anyone's identity or circumstances, and we don't vet the families on the site. That's why first meetings must be adults-only, at one of our listed public places, in daylight. Please read Meeting safely before you meet anyone, and make your own checks before you agree a share or hire a nanny, including references, right to work and an enhanced DBS check for the nanny.
Your promises
- Your answers are true, and you'll keep your profile up to date or delete it.
- Your first meeting with any family will be adults-only, at a public place from our list, in daylight.
- You won't ask for or share home addresses or children's names until both families are comfortable.
- You won't share another family's code name, meeting details or anything you learn about them publicly.
- You'll report anything that feels wrong.
- You won't try to get around the site's limits or safeguards, or use it in a way that could harm anyone.
Reports and removal
We may pause or remove any profile, at any time and without notice, if we think it's needed to keep families safe or if these terms are broken. A safety report pauses a profile straight away while we look into it.
Meet-up codes
Joining, browsing and matching are always free. Meet-ups may carry a one-off fee per family; we'll announce it on the site before it starts, and any match made before then stays free. When meet-ups are paid, the price is shown before you buy. Each code unlocks one meet-up for one family and can only be used once. Codes last 12 months. Payments are handled by Stripe. If you haven't used a code, you can ask for a refund within 14 days of buying it. Using a code doesn't guarantee that a meeting or a share will happen. Your legal rights as a consumer aren't affected.
Your private link
Your private link is the only way into your profile. Keep it safe: anyone with it can see and act on your profile. We can't recover a lost link.
Our responsibility
We work hard to keep Pairfold safe, accurate and available, but we can't promise you'll find a family, or that the site will always be available or free of errors. The guides and calculator are general information, not legal, tax or financial advice. We aren't responsible for arrangements between families, for employing a nanny, or for anything that happens at or after a meeting. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Privacy
See our privacy page for exactly what we store and for how long.
Changes and the law
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows when. If a change matters to how you use Pairfold, we'll say so on the site. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
